Pickle lovers around the world are celebrating at festivals filled with food, DJs, merch, brine, balloons, celebrity sightings, and more.

To me, pickles are a big dill. (Wink.) However, in day-to-day life, I often struggle to find pickle lovers who rise to my level of dill devotion.
The good news is pickle festivals make it possible to celebrate one of the world’s greatest culinary creations with brine lovers decked out in full pickle suits. All over the world, pickle festivals take on their own flavors, ready to be soaked up by eager festival-goers. Here are my favorite finds:
The Big Dill doesn’t confine its pickle celebration to one location. This huge festival takes its appreciation for pickles on the road to New York, Maryland, Missouri, Texas, and Pennsylvania. Each year the tour plans to make an appearance in new locations, so be on the lookout for The Big Dill in a city near you. This festival is not just full of vendors, but also carnival-like games and live performances, leading to its branding as “World’s Largest Pickle Party.”
Not only does this festival feature delicious and innovative pickle flavors, but it has all of the swag a pickle lover could need, with pickle hats, bags, hair clips, and even dill pickle-flavored chapstick available for purchase. The festival will have some serious celebrity sightings as well: Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi will be crowned America’s Pickle Queen at The Big Dill in Arlington, Texas on November 7th 2026.
For 10 days in the summer, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania turns into Picklesburgh. The sprawling festival has pickle-themed meals, pickle-centric drinks, and pickle apparel on both sides of the Allegheny River. The Heinz-sponsored festival’s vendors are dispersed amongst various streets, as well as on the Roberto Clemente and Andy Warhol Bridge.
Picklesburgh also hosts a pickleball tournament and clinics for those who are a whole different division of pickle enthusiasts.
But pickleball is only one facet of the competitive spirit at Picklesburgh. For those looking to medal in pickle consumption, attendees can enter a Dill-Cathalon featuring head-to-head pickle juice drinking, bobbing for pickles, and pickle eating. If you’re looking to set more of a personal record, Picklesburgh has a large mechanical pickle that attempts to buck riders off its back with “unpredictable pickle power.”
Gherkins from Spreewald, Germany, are considered by some to be the Holy Grail of pickles. If you want to try a Spreewald pickle, it’s not as simple as following a recipe at home or hoping your favorite local shop carries them. Spreewald gherkins are classified as a geographically protected delicacy by the EU Commission. The freshly picked cucumbers have a distinctive aromatic taste that can’t be found anywhere else. So pickle fanatics, it’s time to pack some bags if you want to chase a taste!
The Spreewald and Schützenfest has been running for 51 years, and its large gherkin market is a dream come true for pickle aficionados.
Nihonbashi Ebisu-ko Bettara-ichi Pickle Fair
The Nihonbashi Ebisu-ko Bettara-ichi Pickle Fair in Tokyo is by far the oldest pickle festival on this list. The earliest versions of this festival were held in the Edo period around 300 years ago. Ebisu, the Japanese god representing fisherman and luck, was celebrated with a market of delicious food that has developed into a huge annual pickle fair.
Bettara-zuke is the highlight of this festival’s offerings. This pickled radish is sweet, salty, and sticky. Festival goers celebrate these unique pickles late into the night as they make their way through the 500 vendors lining the streets.
London’s first pickle festival is coming this September, and its ambitious lineup makes this two-day event one of the country’s biggest pickle festivals. Of course the festival will feature delicious pickles, drinks, and meals, but what sets this event apart is its live entertainment.
In addition to live DJs and musicians, chefs will perform live demonstrations of their pickle making processes. For home picklers concocting their own brines, this festival might provide a few new tips and tricks to make delectable pickles of your own.
